Palatal plate is an appliance that is placed in the upper jaw (palate) region and is generally used in orthodontic treatments. It is preferred in cases such as jaw expansion, tooth movement or breaking habits. It is widely used in children, especially to expand the narrow palate structure. This plate can be fixed or movable and is specially produced according to the patient’s mouth structure. It can also be adjusted in accordance with the treatment plan to ensure the correct closure of the jaw or to correct positional disorders in the teeth.
Notes for the application
In palatal plate applications, both locked and capped screws can be used in the round hole section. However, capped screws must be used in the groove section. For capped and locked screw applications, you can check their own pages.
